The Florida Gators football program got a big scare just weeks before the regular season is about to start as All-SEC defensive back Vernon Hargreaves had to be carted off the field after suffering an injury in a scuffle he was involved in. Well head coach Will Muschamp, who was not going to speak on the issue until Friday, told the media moments ago that the MRI revealed a bone bruise, and Hargreaves will be “day-to-day.”
Update from @CoachWMuschamp: “An MRI revealed that Vernon Hargreaves suffered a bone bruise and he is listed as day to day.”

Last season the Gators suffered through one of the worst seasons in program history, finishing 4-8 on the year, and that was largely due to a slew of injuries that plagued the team. Seeing Hargreaves go down like this, and in such a senseless manner, had to bring back some bad memories for Muschamp and company.

Upon leaving the field, the reports were that it was not looking good, as Hargreaves could not put any weight on the leg, and even had the knee heavily taped by the medical staff.
Unquestionably, the sophomore is the best defensive asset that the Gators have this year as they look to rebound from that horrible 2013 performance and return to the top of the SEC.
