Saturday night, the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions played one of the most anticipated preseason games in NFL history, and that was all thanks to one former Heisman winner: Johnny Manziel. This game marked the NFL debut of the phenomenon that has swept the football world the past few years, and all in all, he seemed pretty pleased with his effort.

On the night, in four drives after taking over for Brian Hoyer, Manziel finished 7-of-11 passing for 63 yards, and he also showed that he can use his legs at this level effectively, rushing the ball six times for 27 yards, including two carries that gave the team a first down to keep the drive alive.
When asked about his performance after the Browns’ 13-12 loss, Manziel felt that it was a good beginning to his NFL career.
Now again, what caught most peoples’ eyes was how effective he was running with the ball at times throughout this contest. That, of course, prompted a question about how much he plans to run, and he answered that maybe the best way possible, by saying that he just wants to get his offense down the field.
Next Monday night, Manziel will get an even better chance to show everyone what he can do, as he will be the starting quarterback under center when the team takes on the Washington Redskins.
