I realize that I have been focusing on deep leagues a lot lately, and kind of skipping over the standard leagues. To be honest, I really only play in two standard leagues anymore, and that is because I have been in them for a decade. I usually do deeper leagues. Deeper leagues do take more work, and a quicker trigger finger, so I find myself focusing on them more. Sometimes my standard league teams suffer for it. So since I am analyzing my standard team rosters, I figure it is a good time to do the add/drops for you standard league players out there.

Drop/Trade:
Howie Kendrick, Angels: Kendrick has struggled since the All Star Break. He has just four RBI since then, and is hitting .161 in August. You can do better.
Martin Prado, Yankees: A change of scenery has not worked out for Prado so far. He is hitting .231 with a homer and two RBI in his new home. Judging by his stats in Arizona, there is not much reason to predict a huge turnaround any time soon.
Neil Walker, Pirates: He has been injured and/or ineffective in August. In fact, he has yet to record a hit since the calendar turned. He had a nice July, but you have to wonder if that back injury is going to linger. At the very least, it has adversely affected his performance.
Add:
Yangervis Solarte, Padres: The youngster has fared well in San Diego, hitting .297 with two homers and nine RBI since being traded by the Yankees. The Padres will keep giving him at bats as long as he keeps hitting, so you should as well.
Kolten Wong, Cardinals: He has eight homers and ten steals since his recall to the majors on July 6th. That can help any team from the second base position.
Dustin Ackley, Mariners: Ackley has four homers and ten RBI in the last two weeks. His .309 average over that span in nice as well. It seems like he has finally figured things out.
Come back tomorrow for the shortstops!
