Driskel is one of the biggest wild cards in the SEC this season and frankly, all of college football, as he could take the Gators to the SEC Championship Game if he remains healthy and excels in the new uptempo offense which should be perfectly suited to his dual-threat skill-set.
After arriving in Gainesville as a top recruit with a ton of potential and expectations, his career with the Gators has been mixed. He did help lead the team to the Sugar Bowl two seasons ago, but was largely responsible for the team losing to Louisville in that game.
Last season, Driskel picked up where he left off in that dismal bowl performance and was turning the ball over at a high clip before a season-ending injury left him on crutches and crippled the Florida offense that limped to a 4-8 finish.
This year, however, offers a great deal of promise for Driskel and the offense because of the new scheme that Driskel offered some thoughts on the progress and evolution of the offense on Tuesday.
Will the good Driskel show up this year or will it be the one who is prone to the turnover?
The Gators defense will once again be a dominant unit with Dante Fowler and Vernon Hargreaves poised for All-American campaigns, but if Driskel can not master the offense and manage the game, the huge turnaround some are predicting for Florida could come up short.
