On Tuesday, some Brian Hoyer trade rumors began to generate buzz on social media. The completely unfounded rumors indicated that the Houston Texans and Cleveland Browns could be closing in on a trade that would swap the two players.

Well, the rumors were completely bogus.
While the Hoyer for Johnson rumors certainly generated some conversation and got discussions going about how the Texans could improve under center and how Cleveland could improve on the edges were Josh Gordon to miss the season, there is no reason to believe that a deal has ever been discussed.
Just look at this brief comment from Browns head coach Mike Pettine.
“Absolutely not,” Pettine said when he was asked whether or not the signing of Rex Grossman meant the Browns would consider moving Hoyer.
So, we can put that all to rest.
This rumor simply started with a Twitter user having some fun and it all spiraled out of control.
Hoyer is still a member of the Browns and he is competing for the team’s starting job with rookie Johnny Manziel.
