You haven’t witnessed pure child-like joy until you’ve watched major league baseball players shed every last ounce of adult self-restraint and take to a rain-soaked tarp as though it were the world’s most massive and awesome slip-and-slide.

More from Cleveland Guardians

Tuesday’s rain delay afforded several members of the Cleveland Indians the opportunity to do just that. And was it an enjoyable spectacle. Oh my goodness yes. Slide, you magnificent baseball players. Slide for all that you are worth!

Jason Kipnis, Lonnie Chisenhall and Mike Aviles were the three Indians player who just could not resist the call of the tarp, flopping and frolicking like overgrown children while a few remaining fans watched from the seats.

The game would end up being called, but at least the fans who showed up got to see three grown men momentarily revert to a child-like state and transform the sad rain-soaked stadium into a watery wonderland. That’s almost worth the price of the ticket and parking plus the hassle of getting to the ballpark and then being rained on.
