By now you’ve likely heard all about the rather odd practice scuffle between the Dallas Cowboys and Oakland Raiders which shockingly happened just inches (literally) from the crowd.

More from Dallas Cowboys

It’s not that fights don’t take place when teams hold joint practices (hell, they happen in every practice), it’s just odd to have them spill over to where the fans are watching. Of course, that wasn’t the only strange oddity that took place on Tuesday as there was a heavy law enforcement presence at the joint practice due to ‘gang colors’.

I won’t get into that, but needless to say things were rather odd for nothing more than a basic training camp practice.

Thankfully it appears that both sides are trying to lighten the mood, at least the Dallas Cowboys, who played Taylor Swift’s hit song ‘Trouble’ when the Oakland Raiders arrived for another joint practice on Wednesday.

It could be nothing more than a coincidence as Jason La Canfora notes, but a Taylor Swift song blasting through the speaker system in Oxnard during a Cowboys-Raiders practice doesn’t exactly strike me as the most common type of tune to be playing.

If it was done intentionally, it’s certainly not the first time we’ve seen such take place as those in charge of the speaker system often attempt to lighten the mood (in any sport) with rather humorous musical additions.

How many players actually understood the reference (assuming it was done intentionally) obviously isn’t known, though some had to have figured it out and had a good chuckle.
