Denver Nuggets unlikely to work out contract with Kenneth Faried
By Josh Hill
The Denver Nugget are not the best of basketball teams at the moment, but they have a bright future and they have the potential to go out and get better if they want to.

Part of getting better is keeping some of their best pieces in place this year and one of their best pieces is big man Kenneth Faried. But while Faried wants a new contract and is entering the final year of his deal, the Nuggets aren’t jumping through hoops to appease him.
According to Steve Kyler from Basketball Insiders, there’s a chance that the Nuggets give a new deal to Kenneth Faried, but the chances are that he just goes to restricted free agency and resolves things next summer.
"Its not out of the question that the Nuggets and Faried reach an extension, it just unlikely. Word is Faried wants a monster contract and while he has shown some moments that might justify it, his body of work is not on par with the near max money his side is said to be seeking. Faried’s situation likely gets resolved in restricted free agency if he is not traded first. His name has been kicked around a lot in trade scenarios."
Trading Faried remains a possibility, but the bottom line is that the Nuggets need to keep Faried in their core, but it liekly won’t be until next summer that something is worked out one way or the other.
