Jim Brown doesn’t want to hear any criticism about the nightlife and larger than life persona of Johnny Manziel as he is a big fan of the Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback.

The Hall of Fame running back was a guest on ESPN Cleveland’s “The Really Big Show” and gave his seal of approval or blessing or whatever you wanna call it about Manziel’s propensity to live in the spotlight and party it up on the weekends and in his off time.
“You’ve got to remember, I’m an ex-player. We used to party,” Brown said. “Let’s get real, man, we chase girls.”
This echoes comments made by many on TV, radio, print of on blogs across the web who could not care less about the off-the-field exploits of the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner and the first redshirt freshman to win the award.
What Brown is really concerned about is if his success as a college star can translate to the NFL where he finds himself in a heated battle with incumbent starter Brian Hoyer.
“I like Johnny, you know, I like his type,” Brown said. “Johnny is a champion, Johnny won games in college. He won the Heisman Trophy as a freshman, didn’t he? … That’s pretty bold. Not bad. You got to have something going on to do that.”
I wonder who Brown would start between Hoyer and Manziel if he was head coach Mike Pettine. Sounds like he’s a big fan of the team’s second of two first round picks and I’d bet he’d roll with Manziel.
