The Kansas City Chiefs are hoping to get a big season out of wide receiver Dwayne Bowe, but it’s looking like that’s going to take a setback with the first game of the season.

After struggling in camp and hearing his name kicked around in a negative way, Bowe has learned he will be suspended for the first game of the 2014 season and will be forced to miss the Chief openers against the Tennessee Titans. According to Rand Getlin from Yahoo! Sports, the Chiefs receiver is being suspended for marijuana possession, which was discovered when he was arrested for speeding last year.

Though Bowe was initially arrested for speeding and marijuana possession, those charges were amended to "defective equipment and littering."

Not having Bowe for the first game of the season is going to hurt the Chiefs in a way, but Bowe wasn’t all that productive in 2013 and his training camp hasn’t been that impressive. Still, he’s the Chiefs No. 1 receiver and not having him on the field at all is much worse than having him out there and struggling.
