The Green Bay Packers initially thought that tight end Brandon Bostick would avoid any significant prognosis and be back on the practice field this week after he went down with injury during Saturday’s pre-season game.

The tight end himself seemed to believe so as well after tweeting that he was ‘fine’ on Sunday afternoon. However, it appears as if Bostick’s injury is more serious than all parties thought as he’ll be out for the next few weeks thanks to a ‘lower leg injury’ as the Green Bay Packers are calling it.
It’s a tough blow for both team and player as many felt that Brandon Bostick could end up being the Green Bay Packers starting tight end given the vacancy left by Jermichael Finley. However, as noted earlier today, Richard Rodgers appears to be shooting up the depth chart and may simply out-play Bostick for the starting gig.
His grip on the job became even less now that he’ll miss the next few weeks and may not be ready for Week 1.

Bostick isn’t much of a pass catcher and didn’t really excel when he took over for the injured Jermichael Finley last season. On the same token, it’s not as if Rodgers is much of a pass catcher either though Bostick’s blocking ability will be missed greatly if he does indeed have to miss any time during the regular season.
