Boston Celtics rumors: Rajon Rondo could be ‘exposed’
By Bryan Rose
Outside of his rookie season, Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo has been the model of consistency. His statistics won’t blow you away, but he has proven himself to be an All-Star caliber player on both sides of the floor during his nine-year NBA career.

Of course, after returning from his devastating ACL injury, Rajon Rondo looked to be a shell of his former self. That’s to be somewhat expected given the nature of his injury and we’ve seen plenty of players come back and look tentative in their return.
However, Nate Duncan of Basketball Insiders worries that Rondo was more than just tentative, he may have lingering issues that could ‘expose’ him this season.
"I think this year could end up really exposing Rondo. He did not look good when he returned last year, and didn’t make much difference in the Celtics’ fortunes on the court."
As noted earlier in the day, multiple NBA teams are said to have interest in trading for Rajon Rondo, though it remains to be seen if the Boston Celtics feel the same about Rondo’s recovery as Duncan does.
If Rondo continues to struggle, that will only reduce his value, especially combined with the fact that he’s set to become an unrestricted free agent at season end. All of that combined makes the pending decision for the Boston Celtics very difficult and it’s a choice they’ll need to make rather quickly as they don’t want to sell their point guard at a clearance price.
For now it doesn’t appear the Celtics share Duncan’s sentiment so we’ll need to see how well he plays when the season begins.
