The Cleveland Browns have named Brian Hoyer their starting quarterback for Week 1 and barring an injury, Johnny Manziel will start his rookie season on the bench as the No. 2 quarterback on the depth chart.

But there’s still a pretty good chance that Johnny Manziel starts during the regular season as a number of things can happen that can lead to Manziel starting for the Browns.
According to Ian Rapoport from NFL Network, the Cleveland Browns may give Johnny Manziel his shot to start after the Week 4 bye the team has, as that will be when the quarterback situation is reassessed.
Hoyer is a great option at quarterback and his winning the starting role need not be discounted at all. However, he hasn’t played a full season as a starter yet and his suffered a season ending knee injury last year that threw the Browns quarterback situation into chaos.
From poor play to injury, Manziel has a decent chance of playing in 2014, and the Week 4 bye will be a date a lot of folks look at as a possible transition date for Johnny Football.
