The Cleveland Brown won’t be starting Johnny Manziel week one of the regular season this year, but there are folks out there looking for any loophole that exists that will provide hope that Manziel is indeed on the field not only week one but every week of the season.

Mobile quarterbacks tend to get special packages on offense to exploit their skills and Manziel won the Heisman in his freshman year at Texas A&M partially because of his mobility. But the Browns have no plans on exploiting Manziel and his time will be spent on the bench and not in some crazy custom package he probably wouldn’t even understand.
According to ESPN.com, there are no special plays or packages in the Browns playbook designed specifically for Manziel.
"Coach Mike Pettine said after Wednesday’s practice that there are no plans to develop a package of plays for Manziel, who starred at Texas A&M but has been slow to adjust to playing under center and learning a new playbook. Manziel said the coach gave him no reason for the decision."
This comes as no surprise as there has been zero indication at all this preseason or this offseason that the Browns plan on getting gimmicky with Manziel. The team is very serious about making him a franchise quarterback, and part of that involves not bringing him in for ‘Manziel plays’ and instead keeping him on the bench to learn until he’s ready to come off and lead.
