Jackson has been out of action since late July with an injury to his right hamstring, but he is expected to be back to 100 percent in time for the start of the regular season on Sept. 7 at home against the division rival New Orleans Saints.
“We are encouraged by what he has done over on that side with athletic performance,” Falcons head coach Mike Smith said, via the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
“It’s going to depend on the individual in terms of how he feels and once the doctor gives him the clear to go, then he will go.”
While the starters generally do not play in the final game of the preseason, Smith did say that there is a chance Jackson will suit up in the finale to make sure he is up to speed in time for the start of the regular season opener.
The Atlanta Falcons preseason resumes on Saturday night with a Week 3 match up against the Tennessee Titans at home.
