Well, the Vikings brass has to be feeling good about their decision after the play Munnerlyn made in the opening quarter of their third preseason contest versus the Kansas City Chiefs.
With Alex Smith and the Chiefs threatening, Munnerlyn picked off Smith in the endzone with 4:22 left in the quarter.
Check out the GIF of the sick play:
The only mistake Munnerlyn made on the play was taking the ball out of the endzone instead of kneeling once he picked the ball off. Munnerlyn was tackled at the six-year line. Two plays later Vikings quarterback Matt Cassell was stacked for a safety, cutting the Vikings lead to 7-2.
Munnerlyn spent the first five years of his career with the Carolina Panthers. He has 282 tackles, three forced fumbles and seven interceptions total.
