Although you can’t take too much away from the preseason, if there is any game that matters, it is the third preseason game.

That’s why the Minnesota Vikings’ first series against the Kansas City Chiefs was very promising. They marched 97 yards on just five plays. They gained 44 yards on their first four players, which is obviously excellent. Then Matt Cassel found Cordarrelle Patterson for a 53-yard touchdown. Patterson used his excellent speed to burn the defense for the score, which you can watch here.
Their second drive didn’t go as well. Cassel dropped back to pass in the end zone and was sacked by Jaye Howard. Cassel fumbled the ball out of the end zone for a safety.
