The Minnesota Timberwolves finally got rid of Kevin Love and banked a huge return for him in a trade that not many thought they’d be able to pull off.

More from Minnesota Timberwolves

But the Wolves netted Anthony Bennett, Andrew Wiggins and Thaddeus Young in the trade and it’s looking like two of those players could have similar paths in the NBA. According to NBA scribe Chuck Myron, the Timberwolves have a potential star in Anthony Bennett but don’t get ahead of yourself and think that his progress will happen immediately for the Wolves.

"He’s clearly something of a project, even though I think he still has a good chance to turn into a guy sort of like Young down the road, or maybe a little better than that. I don’t think he becomes a real star, but he can be a starter on a good team."

Wiggins is far and away the centerpiece of the deal and he’s the one that will become the face of the franchise. But Bennett has been having a great offseason to try and erase the mark of being a draft bust and while he may not be a Hall of Famer in his career, being a Thaddeus Young 2.0 type of player isn’t the worst thing ever.
