During LeBron James’ first tenure with the Cleveland Cavaliers, he made the chalk toss a work of art. It ended up becoming his trademark pre-game ritual but after he signed with the Miami Heat, James decided to stop with the toss for a while.

After a year-plus hiatus of billowing chalk dust through the air, James decided to bring it back last season with the Miami Heat but would he continue to perform the pre-game routine now that he has re-signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers?
You bet he will.
LeBron James posted a video to his Instagram account suggesting he can’t wait to get back to Quicken Loans Arena where he can unleash a cloud of chalk residue among media and fans in the first few rows of the stands.
In addition to the above video, LeBron James also posted the following caption:
"I swear I can’t wait for this moment again!! #TheLand #PowderFillsTheRoom #StriveForGreatness"
James reportedly went away from the tossing of the chalk during his first couple seasons with the Miami Heat because he wanted to be more ‘serious’ but eventually brought it back because the ‘fans loved it’. I’m not sure how accurate that sentiment is, though there’s really no pre-game routine that gets more attention in sports than LeBron’s tossing of the chalk.
It always proves to be an exciting moment in the arena when James walks to the scoring table and unleashes the dust cloud, though for some reason it will probably be even more exciting now given his return to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
