Buffalo Bills release QB Thad Lewis
By Jack Crosby
The Buffalo Bills have been having some serious issues with the quarterback situation this preseason, so much so that they were recently even called out by the best to ever play at the position in Buffalo, Jim Kelly. Well early Tuesday morning, the team took one big step in the direction of fixing this, as they have released backup and former starter Thad Lewis.
Really throughout the preseason thus far, none of the Bills’ quarterbacks have opened anyone’s eyes, but in particular, the backups have been the most underwhelming, Lewis especially.

This is the second quarterback release by the team in the last few days, following the departure of Dennis Dixon, who again, was not impressive at all. The team has recently added veteran backup Jordan Palmer, so it was inevitable that either Jeff Tuel or Lewis would be gone soon.
Lewis was the one on the chopping block.
But there is still a long way to go with the quarterbacks in Buffalo, especially with Manuel. That’s why the addition of Palmer was so crucial, as he now becomes the mentor to this group by default. With his coaching skills, he can hopefully get everything back together in Buffalo.
If he does, though, Lewis won’t be there to benefit.
