The Atlanta Falcons had a rough season in 2013 as the team failed to do anything significant but the team has been looking like a bounce back candidate in 2014 which is something that may need to happen to save Mike Smith’s job.

According to Adam Caplan of ESPN.com, one name that could be on the hot seat this year when it comes to head coaches is Mike Smith of the Atlanta Falcons. Caplan writes in an Insider’s Only piece that Smith could very well be out of a job after this season if he fails to bring the Falcons back from the depths of wherever they went last year.
It’s not that Caplan thinks Smith will be fired after 2014 if he has another losing season but doing so would place Smith firmly on the hot seat in Atlanta which is something to watch for as the Falcons try to grow in the 2014 season. It’s hard to say that the team will regress again, as the roster is loaded with Super Bowl talent but the bottom line is that last year’s flame out wasn’t supposed either but it did and if it happens again then Smith may find himself out of a job.
