According to Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean, the Titans are going to be signing former Kansas City Chiefs kicker Ryan Succop and will take him into the season as their guy.
"The Titans have a strong interest in former Chiefs kicker Ryan Succop and indications are they could sign him as early as Monday, according to sources familiar with the situation.Succop would replace kicker Travis Coons on the roster. The Titans elected to keep Coons – and release Maikon Bonani – when they trimmed their roster to 53 over the weekend."
It’s worth noting that Succop’s first game of his career with the Titans would be against the Kansas City Chiefs Week 1, but that’s not why he was signed. Tennessee is in dire need of some consistency with their kicker and while Succop wasn’t always the most accurate, he’s much more reliable than anything the Titans had on roster already.
