Can Ravens’ Owen Daniels have a Week 1 impact?
Owen Daniels performed a preseason disappearing act. He signed with the Ravens this offseason but rested his legs multiple weeks of the preseason due to a hamstring injury. The tight end won’t skip a beat once the season opener comes around. He’ll be ready for game action.

“Week 1’s the most important thing,” Daniels said following Tuesday’s practice. “In my case, I’ve been running (in) this offense for nine years. I know it pretty well. We have a game plan in, and I’m ready to go with that.”
There was some wondering about what, exactly, was wrong with his legs, but he straightened that out.
“I felt great all offseason, OTA’s, minicamp, the first part of training camp,” Daniels said. “The leg I broke last year is a non-issue. I haven’t felt it at all.
“Everyone’s legs were tired I think. I’m not the oldest guy. It was definitely a hammy issue, but that’s behind us.”
Daniels played with the Gary Kubiak when he was the head coach of the Houston Texans. Daniels played for the Texans for eight seasons. He caught 385 balls on 595 targets and boasted 4,617 yards with 29 touchdowns. He is expected to bring a one-two punch at tight end with Dennis Pitta, who signed an extension with the team in February. They will help Joe Flacco and the Ravens rebound from an awful offensive season last year.
