Browns’ Brian Hoyer on Steelers rivalry: ‘We hate them, they hate us’
Cleveland Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer won the NFL’s most tumultuous quarterback competition, and somehow he did it with grace. He has remained relatively quiet and humble about his role with the team.

But don’t ask him about the Steelers.
“We hate them, they hate us,” he said to Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram and the Medina Gazette.
Now in only his second year with the Browns, he already understands the rivalry between the two teams. Hoyer is getting better as a starter. Head coach Mike Pettine said: “Since we named him the starter, he’s improved every day.” It’s great news for the Browns. He was solid last year throwing for 615 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions in three interceptions in three games, before he injured his knee and underwent season ending surgery. If he improved upon those performances, then we may not see Johnny Manziel.
Of course, he could help but answer a question about his no-so-quiet, no-so-graceful understudy.
When asked if he was lost in the Manziel hype, he said, “Not at all. I’m the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns.”
Yet, no one really believes it. Even Steelers coach Mike Tomlin head coach thinks he’ll see Manziel.
“We fully expect them to utilize him in some capacity in this football game,” Tomlin told reporters Tuesday, via USA Today. “They didn’t draft him in the first round to watch. … We understand that.”
Hoyer may be the NFL’s least appreciated man.
