Twins pospect Nick Gordon done for season
The Minnesota Twins are in the midst of losing 90 games for yet another season. Currently sitting right under 80 losses, the Twins will need a very strong September if they are going to miss the mark. To make things worse, their 5th overall draft pick this season, Nick Gordon, has now had his season come to an end.

Nick Gordon, the son of Tom “Flash” Gordon and brother of Dodgers All-Star shortstop, Dee Gordon, broke his finger while playing for the Elizabethton Twins. With the injury coming at the beginning of the month of September, his first season as a pro will now come to an end.
Gordon, touted as the shortstop of the future for the Twins, played in 57 games this season for the Elizabethton Twins. Across those 57 games he batted .294/.333/.336 with one home run, 28 runs batted in, and 46 runs scored. On the base paths, he swiped 11 bases while being caught seven times.
The Twins drafted Gordon knowing his defense was ahead of his bat, and that his speed was his biggest asset at the plate. He is a contact hitter that could add more power as he grows into his frame. On the base paths, his stealing ability should improve as he works to pick up pitchers to a better extent.
With the Minnesota Twins having such a loaded farm system, a turnaround in the coming years is to be expected. Gordon is likely at least two years away from the major league level, but projects as an All-Star when he reaches the show.
