Did you ever witness Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan hanging out before an NBA game? What about when the two were on Team USA’s basketball team together in the early and mid 1990’s?

If you did, you’d know that both Barkley and Jordan were extremely close friends. The two would often fly to Lake Tahoe or Monterey for a quick round of golf followed by an evening or two in Sin City where they’d often lose absurdly large sums of money.
They may not have been inseparable, but they certainly were close. However that relationship changed when Michael Jordan took over the Charlotte Bobcats (now Hornets) franchise and was proving himself to be one of the worst owners in the NBA.
Never one to hold his tongue, Charles Barkley suggested Michael Jordan wasn’t helping the Bobcats franchise and wasn’t shy regarding his criticism. That didn’t sit well with Jordan who Barkley says no longer likes him and believes the GOAT took his comments as a shot.
"I think that Michael was upset by some of the things I said about the Bobcats – which, number one, they were true. I told you earlier, I’m going to be honest, and I’m going to be fair. The Bobcats – first of all, he’s doing a much better job. But a couple years ago, I want to say three years ago, when they were vying for the worst record in NBA history, Michael had not done a good job. He took it personally."
Of course there could be plenty more than just some comments from Barkley that derailed their friendship, though, it’s certainly sad to see the two are no longer very close. Barkley did go on to say he believes the relationship can be repaired, however.
