Miracles do happen, and good things happen to good people, right?  It is now being reported that longtime Hall of Famer, and Buffalo Bills legend, Jim Kelly has been declared cancer-free.

More from Buffalo Bills

SBNation, as well as a handful of other outlets, are now reporting that Kelly is indeed cancer-free.  Thanks to reports from biopsies done on Kelly, the news is nothing but good.

Kelly also released a statement of his own:

“This is some of the greatest news I’ve ever gotten.  It’s been a long road, and I’m still not back to 100 percent, but I have a lot to be thankful for.”  While not an easy journey by any means, the news is absolutely wonderful.

Kelly continued, “I am so thankful for the support and prayers of my family, my friends near and far, and everyone in Western New York and throughout the country through my illness. I also want to thank the medical specialists who have done such amazing work.  Most of all, I want to thank God. Without my faith and God’s constant presence, there would be no such thing as ‘Kelly Tough.'”

Former Bills All-Pro Steve Tasker also added his thoughts via Twitter.

This is a great thing for Bills fans, NFL fans, and people in general.  Jim Kelly being diagnosed with cancer sent shockwaves through the sporting world.  The man was a legend in one of the most physically grueling sports on the planet.  To think he could be taken down by a disease that is so non-discriminatory is just saddening.

Here’s to you and your fight Jim Kelly, thanks for showing America there can be a light at the end of the tunnel.
