It appears things are changing for the New York Knicks. Not only does there appear to be light at the end of the proverbial tunnel, it seems as if the new regime is attempting to instill a new philosophy with the franchise.

With NBA legend Phil Jackson atop the franchise and newly minted head coach Derek Fisher walking the sidelines, the New York Knicks have decided to relocate their training camp to West Point this season where they’ll workout at Christl Arena.
If such a move sounds familiar that’s because Team USA recently held part of their camp at West Point as well.
"The Knicks announced they will hold training camp at West Point’s Christl Arena, home of Army basketball. The Derek Fisher-led Knicks will start camp at West Point on Sept. 30 and end it Oct. 4. Team USA’s World Cup team practiced there last month under the direction of Mike Krzyzewski."
This won’t be the first time the New York Knicks have moved their training camp to West Point, though it’s the first time in nearly five decades as the Knicks last held camp at the school in 1966.
More often than not, the New York Knicks hold training camp at their Tarrytown facility though will occastionally hit the road, though they haven’t done so for a number of years.
As to the possible thinking behind this, it’s likely in effort to grow chemistry. We see NFL teams do a similar thing and it’s very possible the Knicks want to take out all family/friend distractions while getting the team together for a week.
