With Kobe Bryant’s career on the downside the Los Angeles Lakers know they’ll need to revamp their franchise and do so quickly.

Of course, the Lakers don’t have a ton of assets to bring in another star player which means it’s very possible they’ll need to nab their next franchise talent through free agency. Granted, that’s not as easy as it looks though with an influx of cap space to come next season, might the Los Angeles Lakers attempt to sign Greg Monroe and/or Eric Bledsoe?
The Los Angeles Lakers have been linked to both and Steve Kyler suggests they could have the means to make such a move come the 2015 offseason.
Kyler also went on to note that the Lakers could have simply shown interest in either Monroe or Bledsoe this offseason if they really wanted them, however given both were restricted free agents it’s very possible any offer made would’ve been matched.
Now with Greg Monroe expected to sign his qualifying offer and Eric Bledsoe possibly doing the same, the Lakers wouldn’t need to worry about having their offer matched as both Mornoe and Bledsoe would be unrestricted at season end (assuming the qualifying offers are signed).
Granted, it’s questionable if either player is worth the type of money they’re seeking but the Lakers are going to need to make a number of moves if they plan on returning to their former glory.
