Although the Toronto Raptors are set at the point guard position you can never have too much of a good thing.

Given that, the team decided to ship a non-needed John Salmons to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for guard Lou Williams who is likely to split time off the bench at both the one and two guard. For what it’s worth, Williams seems extremely excited to be playing for the Toronto Raptors and recently suggested he’s a big fan of the way the franchise is run.
Williams gave praise to general manager Masai Ujiri and stated he was really impressed with the GM’s passion, suggesting he liked when Ujiri excitedly screamed “F— Brooklyn’ before Game 1 of their playoff series.
“Maybe I shouldn’t say this, but I was really excited about the message Masai sent out,” he said. “I was like, ‘That’s pretty dope.’ For once, someone actually spoke their mind. That was interesting to me. Someone actually said, ‘I’m concerned with our team, our organization. I want us to win, I don’t care about anyone else.’ I really liked that message.”
While Lou Williams may have appreciated it, the NBA understandably did not. Still, it was certainly something that could easily motivate a player/team and is a welcome change from the cookie cutter front offices you often find around the league.
It’s doubtful Williams was the only player who found the speech/comment appeasing and Uriji’s passion for the game is turning the Toronto Raptors franchise around very quickly.
