The anti-Jake Locker committee will have to wait another week to openly criticize the Tennessee Titans quarterback.

Facing up against a Kansas City Chiefs defense that caused many teams trouble last season, Locker is wheeling and dealing as his Titans currently hold a 17-3 after a six-yard dart to Kendall Wright who jumped for six at the goal line.
With all plays reviewed by the booth, the referees deemed Wright’s touchdown dive acceptable as the ball crossed the pylon before being jarred loose by the ground from Wright’s possession.
While the numbers don’t leap off the board, Locker is doing an excellent job of commanding the Titans offense as they look to win the opener. Completing 15 of 22 passes, Locker has thrown for 183 yards and 2 touchdowns–tight-end Delani Walker was the recipient of Locker’s first touchdown throw. Locker’s feet have also been pivotal as he’s scrambled to escape the pocket, collecting 17 rushing yards on 4 carries, only 7 less than Shonn Green.
Most importantly, Locker–or anyone else–has yet to turn the ball over, an area the Chiefs defense excelled in the previous season.
Unless the Chiefs offense catches fire, it looks like the Titans will kick off their 2014 season 1-0. With the Dallas Cowboys on schedule for Week 2, Tennessee can only hope their momentum, whether speaking on Locker, the defense, or the running game, will carry over.
