Will Manziel see any action Sunday as a read-option special package secret weapon X-factor quarterback?
Maybe. Or maybe not. Nobody’s telling, because telling what you’re going to do before the game starts is stupid.
All we know is that Brian Hoyer will be starting for Cleveland and Josh Gordon will not be playing.
Johnny Manziel will spend most of the game on the sideline watching, hopefully keeping his middle finger to himself.
Even though Manziel isn’t playing, he will likely have his name mentioned more than Brian Hoyer.
If Manziel does get in on a limited basis, his impact on the game will likely not be very significant.
If he gets in on more than a limited basis, it means something bad happened to Brian Hoyer.
All things being equal, I feel like the Browns probably hope the Manziel era does not start today. They would prefer to start the Manziel era in their own way at what they deem to be the proper time.
If they do need Manziel today, he’s in the house. He’s ready. He’s got his game face on.
