There’s no doubt when Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed is on the field, he’s a premier tight end.

Of course, staying on the field has proven to be rather problematic for Jordan Reed and such is the case again as the tight end has been deemed ‘out’ for the remainder of the Redskins game against the Houston Texans.

Reed, who after a catch was attempt to hurdle a defender was smashed and in the process may have apparently hurt his hamstring. The injury could have occurred before the hit as well, though regardless Jordan Reed has been removed from the game and will not return.

Losing Reed against the Texans is difficult enough for the Washington Redskins considering they currently trail, though the concern has to be shifted to the future. Reed hasn’t proven himself to be the most healthy guy on the field and its well known that hamstring injuries, especially those severe in nature can linger for a considerable amount of time.

Granted, the seriousness of Reed’s hamstring injury is currently unknown as he’s in the midst of undergoing tests, still there is plenty of reason to be concerned.

It’s been a tough afternoon for the Redskins and the news of Reed’s injury understandably made things worse. Hopefully the team is simply being cautious and are trying to avoid furthering the injury by keeping Jordan Reed off the field.
