The Baltimore Ravens public relations department is working hard, following the release of video of running back Ray Rice punching and knocking out his then-fiancee Janay Palmer.

More from Baltimore Ravens

Earlier in the offseason, Rice and Palmer held a joint press conference where they both shared blame for the incident in the Atlantic City casino elevator.

That press conference did not sit well with people, and it was even worse when the Ravens tweeted out a comment from Janay Palmer where she apologized for “her part.”

The video evidence showed that Palmer did nothing wrong and she was not aggressive when she was knocked out by Rice.

Many have been continuing to point out that tweet, which was still on the team’s official Twitter account earlier today, but now they have deleted the message as they attempt to avoid any further public backlash for standing behind Ray Rice throughout the summer.

Rice was released by the Ravens on Monday afternoon and the NFL handed down an indefinite suspension.
