The Baltimore Ravens cut a running back on Monday.

No, not that running back.

The Ravens signed defensive tackle Christo Bilukidi, who had been released by the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday, and cut rookie running back Fitzgerald Toussaint to make room on the roster.

More from Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore had only five defensive linemen for Sunday’s opening 23-16 loss to the Bengals, so the addition of Bilukidi will give the Ravens a bit more depth on the defensive front.

Bilukidi, 24, is a native of Angola and split last season between the Oakland Raiders and the Bengals, making five tackles and notching one sack in seven games.

He was a sixth-round pick of the Raiders in 2012 out of Georgia State and had eight tackles in 13 games as a rookie.

Toussaint was signed this spring an undrafted free agent out of Michigan. He rushed for 1,041 yards and nine touchdowns as a sophomore for the Wolverines, but suffered a serious leg injury as a junior. He came back to run for 648 yards and a 3.5-yard per carry average to go with 13 touchdowns as a senior.

Toussaint had 123 yards on 21 carries in the preseason for the Ravens and was inactive for the loss to Cincinnati on Sunday.

That leaves Baltimore with three running backs—Bernard Pierce, Justin Forsett and Lorenzo Taliaferro—on its roster.
