The New York Giants hoped to prove their doubters wrong when they traveled to Detroit to take on the Lions in their season-opener Monday night.

However, they got off to a disastrous start, allowing Lions’ quarterback Matt Stafford to throw touchdowns of 76 and 16 yards to Calvin Johnson.
The Giants worked their way back in it, getting a one-yard touchdown toss from Eli Manning to tight end Larry Donnell in the second quarter, making it only 14-7 at the half.
In the third quarter, the Lions added a pair of field goals to increase their lead to 20-7. Then, Manning threw his second interception, this time it was intercepted by Glover Quin. It was his second interception in five snaps (the first was picked by DeAndre Levy.
