The NFL and the Baltimore Ravens finally buckled to the outrage over a domestic abuse incident when running back Ray Rice hit his then-fiancee. All it took was for TMZ to release video of the incident for the team to release him and the NFL to suspend him indefinitely.

More from Baltimore Ravens

A lot of the out rage came from fans, who talked about not watching the league, buying tickets or merchandise. Some Ravens fans have taken that discussion further and tried to return their Ray Rice Ravens jerseys at local sporting good stores.

From The Wire:

"Dick’s Sporting Goods stores in the Baltimore area were told to pull Ray Rice jerseys from shelves immediately after the NFL announcement. One store in the area told The Wire that customers have come in to return Ray Rice jerseys. Rice’s #27 jersey was still available for sale online."

Bleacher Report’s lead NFL draft analyst Matt Miller had a good suggestion on what to do with the jerseys.

It isn’t unreasonable to think that an NFL team could do this. The New England Patriots allowed fans to exchange their Aaron Hernandez jerseys as he was arrested and charged for his role in a homicide.
