The troubling video from an Atlantic City casino elevator showing Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice striking and knocking out his then fiancee has been a highly-discussed and heavy topic over the airwaves since the video became public on Monday morning.

More from Baltimore Ravens

Most of the discussion has been filled with some strong opinion on what the NFL should do, with the discussion focusing on how serious and appalling this incident has been.

However, FOX News is not your average network and one of the hosts on “Fox & Friends” decided it would be an appropriate time to drop a joke.

It went over about as poorly as you’d expect.

The hosts were discussing another incident involving Jay Z, Beyonce and Solange Knowles which also happened in an elevator, when cohost Brian Kilmeade said the following:

"“The message is, take the stairs,” Kilmeade said.“The message is, when you’re in an elevator, there’s a camera,” Steve Doocy said."

Way to go, guys.

Maybe you should stick your job as a television host and leave the cheap attempts at comedy alone.
