The Detroit Lions had a fantastic 2012, finally returning to the postseason.

However, they took a step back in 2013 and missed out the postseason.

After upgrading their offense in the offseason, drafting former North Carolina Tar Heels’tight end Eric Ebron and signing wide receiver Golden Tate away from the Seattle Seahawks.

They have gotten off to a great start in their season-opener on Monday night against the New York Giants. Quarterback Matt Stafford threw a pair of first quarter touchdowns to wide receiver Calvin Johnson.

In the third quarter, Stafford added a five-yard touchdown on the ground to give the Lions a 27-7 lead.
