Apparently, it’s a good time to be New York Jets backup quarterback Michael Vick.

The signal caller, who actually did see the field a bit during New York’s season opening victory over the Oakland Raiders is cashing in this year, both on the field and off.
Vick, who signed a one-year deal with the New York Jets this past offseason is adding to his growing bank account with a six-figure radio gig. Yep, that’s the word from Jimmy Traina of Fox Sports who reported Vick’s absurd radio deal which includes a weekly interview.
According to NY Daily News, Michael Vick, who doesnt play, is getting 6 figures to do a weekly interview w/ Mike Francesa on WFAN.

While the actual figure is currently unknown, you have to assume it’s at the lower range of the six-figure total. Still, even if it’s $100,000 dollars at minimum, that’s an absurdly large amount of coin for doing nothing more than showing up for a radio interview once a week. Hell, he may not even have to show up.
Even if there’s more involved (promotion, etc.) somebody needs to get his agent and/or PR team an all expense paid vacation as a reward.
Meanwhile, Geno Smith is wondering why he can’t even get a local New York car dealership to give him some love.
Should be interesting to see if the gamble from WFAN works out. Does Michael Vick really talking about the Jets translate into making the company over $100,000 bucks? Maybe not, though it’s already working from a promotional standpoint.
