When Mike Miller became a free agent this past offseason, multiple teams were said to have interest in the veteran swingman.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

Why wouldn’t they as Miller has emerged as a premier sixth-man type and could immediately improve the roster of any team he decided to join. Ultimately, Miller, thanks to courting from friend and former teammate LeBron James, decided he’d sign in Cleveland because they provided him with his best chance to win.

“Very important,” Miller stated when asked about playing with James again. “Where I’m at in my career right now, it’s all about giving yourself the best opportunity to win. I felt like this gave me the best opportunity to do that. Teaming up with him again is a blessing and we hope to make the most of it.”

It’s difficult to disagree as the Cleveland Cavaliers are the favorites of many and no team (outside of the San Antonio Spurs) who expressed interest in Mike Miller had a better chance to bring home an NBA title.

Miller’s acquisition will be under the radar and isn’t likely to draw the attention of a Ray Allen or even Shawn Marion, though his impact on the floor will be felt significantly.

Not only has Miller proven himself to be an elite outside shooter, he’s also no slouch on the defensive end. LeBron isn’t the only player Mike Miller is excited about playing with either as the guard talked about playing with Kevin Love as well.

“He’s a guy in Minnesota that I got to play with that would give you 12 points and 10 rebounds without running a play for him,” Miller said.
