The Baltimore Ravens and the NFL have come down hard on Ray Rice following the release of footage showing him knocking his wife unconscious.

But while the NFL and the Ravens were way slow on their proper punishment for the incident, others around the league aren’t as forgiving. Not everyone hated Ray Rice before today but now there isn’t a soul in a powerful position in the league who is willing to even think about associating themselves with him.
According to Nate Ulrich from the Akron Beacon Journal, add Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine to the list of those who won’t be calling up Ray Rice anytime soon.
Mary Kay Cabot passed along a similar quote from the head coach.
It’s nice to see that the rest of the league isn’t as forgiving as the NFL initially was when it came to Ray Rice. He was given just a two game suspension but the release of the video from TMZ showing Rice knocking his wife out was a chance for the league to make up for it’s mistake.
it’s entirely possible that Rice gets work again in the NFL but Pettine likely doesn’t stand alone in being a head coach who would rather not have Rice or someone like him on their team.
