One of the most drama-filled organization’s in recent memory, it appears things are finally on the right track in the Big Apple and not wanting rock the boat the New York Knicks don’t plan to make any moves regarding their current front office for at least a year.
That’s the word from Marc Berman of the New York Post who says the current front office regime will remain intact for the upcoming season.
"According to an NBA source, Jackson and Knicks owner James Dolan have an agreement Jackson will keep the current front-office staff in place for one year to see how it jells. The Knicks have not announced any dismissals. The only front-office hiring — which has not been officially announced — has been Clarence Gaines as advisor to the president. Gaines worked with Jackson in Chicago."
At this point the New York Knicks are simply trying to wait things out until they can remove the albatross of salaries currently on their roster, so the current front office isn’t going to be able to make much noise this season. Still, they were able to bring back Carmelo Anthony and did very well in the draft despite not having a first-round pick so there’s not much to complain about currently.
It appears the upcoming season will be a trial period for all involved and if things go well, it’s possible no changes will be made after the season.
