In non-Ray Rice news as the former Baltimore Ravens running back has dominated the NFL-related news circuit, suspended wide receivers Josh Gordon, Wes Welker, and others could possibly find themselves reinstated for the 2014 NFL season reports Ian Rapoport of NFL.com as the NFL and NFL Players Association are currently working on a solution to better police the league’s drug policy.
According to Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen of ESPN, the revised drug policy is expected to focus on raising limits for substance abuse as well as finally include testing for HGH.
"The proposed policy will include human growth hormone testing for the first time, as well as make significant changes that raise limits for marijuana testing and expand neutral arbitration, sources said."
If the new rules are agreed to, this could open the window for a hasty return for two the league’s best wide receivers. Wes Welker of the Denver Broncos received a four-game suspension for testing positive of adderall in the summer. For Josh Gordon of the Cleveland Browns, the NFL placed a year-long suspension due to a second failed drug test, testing positive for marijuana–the first was for codeine.

Their additions would be a huge boost to their respective franchises, Gordon adding a dynamic threat to a Browns team who could surpass many expectations this season and Welker for adding to an already-elite offense.
Other players who could possibly be reinstated because of the rule change include Orlando Scandrick, Cowboys defensive back, and Matt Prater, Broncos kicker.
The NFLPA is set to vote on the drug policies tomorrow in New York.
