While the Dallas Mavericks and Cleveland Cavaliers are in different NBA conferences, both should be among the league elite this season thanks to their deep and talented rosters.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

Granted, they’ll only play each other twice during the regular season but might those contests be a preview of the NBA Finals? It’s certainly a possibility and it appears both are already sharpening their smack talk in preparation.

The topic at hand? Pokemon.

Yes, you read that correctly: Pokemon.

If you’ve followed the Dallas Mavericks on social media you know they like to think outside of the box in regards to their marketing campaigns and they apparently decided to have some fun at the expense of Chandler Parsons, posting the following tweet.

Pretty good right? Well, the Cleveland Cavaliers decided they wanted in on the action as well and replied to the Dallas Mavericks with their own Pokemon-inspired tweet.

Yep, I think the Cleveland Cavaliers win that one. It was a grand idea on the Dallas Mavericks part but the ‘fro wearing Pokemon character (in honor of Anderson Varajeo) easily takes the crown.

For what it’s worth, the Dallas Mavericks have yet to respond though I’m all for a full-blown social media war with NBA players mocked up as video game characters.
