Quarterback play can be the key to a successful fantasy football season, just ask any Peyton Manning owner from last season. On the other hand, getting stuck with a bad QB can quickly sink your fantasy football season. Even with all of the top options taken, you can find value at quarterback on the waiver wire if you are playing in 2 QB leagues or are looking to play matchups going forward.

There were definitely some surprises in the top scoring quarterbacks this week including a cameo from spot-starter Derek Anderson who got a spot start in place of Cam Newton. The usual suspects were at the top with Matt Ryan leading the way followed by Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning, and Matthew Stafford. It was a bit of a rough week for some QB1’s, though, with Drew Brees, Tom Brady, and Aaron Rodgers all being outscored by the Jags Chad Henne.
Don’t over-react to week one by dropping someone you drafted to be your stud QB, but there is definitely some options available especially if you are playing in a dual-QB league.
