When Eddie Lacy is on the field, the Green Bay Packers running back is a force.

However, the former Offensive Rookie of the Year award winner has proven himself to be oft-injured during his short but impressive NFL career. Such is the case yet again as Eddie Lacy suffered a concussion during Green Bay’s opening week loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
It wasn’t the first concussion of Lacy’s career and there is mounting concern that the running back could be prone to the injury, especially given his hard-nosed, head first style of running. Given that, the Green Bay Packers are being understandably cautious regarding their running back who was held out of practice on Wednesday.

There have been conflicting reports regarding news of Eddie Lacy passing the NFL’s concussion protocol but there’s really no reason for the Packers to force their running back onto the practice field at this time.
Given Lacy suffered the concussion last Thursday, he’ll have extended recovery time considering the Packers don’t host the New York Jets until Sunday afternoon. Still, it’s not known if he’ll be active for the contest and it’s very possible keeping Lacy out of the lineup for a week may prove to be beneficial to both the Packers and their running back.
If Lacy is unable to take the field, James Starks is expected to draw the start.
