South Beach may not seem like the type of town Jim Harbaugh would be attracted to, though if he’s made available at season end the Miami Dolphins are expected to pursue the San Fransisco 49ers coach.

While news of Miami’s interest in Jim Harbaugh isn’t exactly new, the noise isn’t dying down either. That’s the word from Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald who suggests the former quarterback is the top choice of owner Stephen Ross.
"Whereas Philbin is more popular with his players than ever before, it’s interesting that 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh has lost some support in his locker-room, according to a report this week from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, who cited “lack of respect” shown to 49ers players. Harbaugh is expected to be Dolphins owner Stephen Ross’ top target if he makes a coaching change after the season."
Of course, Joe Philbin has done a pretty decent job with the Miami Dolphins and really hasn’t put himself in position to be fired/not retained. Still, the lure of a big name coach is something that has been a priority of Ross in the past and that’s exactly what Harbaugh brings to the table.
Granted, Harbaugh is currently under contract with the San Francisco 49ers through the 2015 season though there have been whispers suggesting that relationship is strained and he could be let go at season end.
Plenty is to happen between now and then though it seems as if Ross and the Miami Dolphins are certainly going to keep tabs on the San Francisco 49ers coach.
