Although it’s been suggested the Miami Heat have all but washed their hands of bringing back forward Michael Beasley, there have been continued whispers that the two sides could potentially work out a minimum level contract despite that.

More from Miami Heat

Understandably, such a low-level contract isn’t something that would intrigue Michael Beasley though with limited interest around the NBA, the former No. 2 overall pick is going to have to take what he gets.

However, it won’t be from the Miami Heat as Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald says Michael Beasley will ‘definitely’ not return to the Miami Heat.

"No surprise here: Michael Beasley definitely won’t be back with the Heat, agent Jared Karnes said Tuesday. The Heat never made an offer, preferring instead to sign journeyman Shawne Williams, whose career hasn’t been nearly as productive as Beasley’s."

While it’s not exactly shocking to hear that Beasley won’t be returning to South Beach, it is interesting to hear the Miami Heat never made an offer. They, along with the Los Angeles Lakers, appeared to be the most interested in the forward but his questionable decision making on the court has haunted him.

According to Jackson, the main reason the Miami Heat decided to move on from Michael Beasley was that the coaching staff simply lacked trust in his ability. There was a noticeable improvement in such when compared to Beasley’s first stint with the organization, though apparently the changes weren’t good enough for a new contract offer.

Beasley will continue to look for an offer in free agency.
