Nearly a year removed from an incident that cost Jacoby Jones a touchdown and Mike Tomlin a $100,000 fine, Tomlin reassured the media that he wouldn’t be repeating his actions from a Thanksgiving night game between the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers that saw Tomlin disrupt a Jones sprint down the field.

More from Baltimore Ravens

When Tomlin was asked per The Baltimore Sun if Jacoby Jones should watch out for him on the field, Tomlin laughed and said, “No, I won’t be. Tell Jacoby he’s safe.”

Tomlin had one foot on the field with his back to Jones during an open-field run that took Jones to the sideline. Tomlin moved at the last second, but Jones still had to change course, which resulted in his being tackled. Tomlin remained adamant he didn’t do anything on purpose even as he was fined after the game in which the Ravens won 22-20.

The Ravens, it seems, haven’t forgotten so easily. Defensive end Terrell Suggs wore a T-shirt bearing images of Tomlin and Jones with the message: “We Will Never Forget: The North Remembers.”

“We just wanted to let their head coach know we will never forget what transpired here in this game last year,” Suggs said.

Jacoby Jones however doesn’t hold the same grudge. “I laugh at it. It’s all fun to me. It is what it is. He was just trying to win. I would do the same.”

The teams play Thursday night at Baltimore in their first of two division matchups this season.
